Preserving Peninsula's Past for the Future.

Children in the Civil War

Our first presentation for the 2014 season will be Children in the Civil War. William Rybka presents a unique perspective in his presentation as he is not only a Civil War buff and Confederate reenactor, but also a youth himself. Following his presentation will be a concert of Civil War camp songs by The Black River Boys.

A life-long Peninsula resident, William Rybka is an 11-year-old fifth grader at Chapel Hill Christian School. He has had his own egg business since he was six, taking very good care of all of his hens. He plays soccer and downhill skis with passion. His number one interest is the Civil War–so much that he has often said “I don’t have time for any other wars.”
