Preserving Peninsula's Past for the Future.

Peninsula in This Old House Magazine

In the April 2012 edition of This Old House magazine, the village of Peninsula was featured as a “Best Old House Neighborhood” across the country.

Last autumn, the Peninsula Valley Historic & Education Foundation submitted the Village of Peninsula to This Old House magazine’s contest for the 5th annual “Best Old-House Neighborhoods” contest. Peninsula was then selected by the editors of the magazine as the 2012 winner for the State of Ohio.

Based on the Foundation’s selection of over 30 beautiful photos and three pages of detailed descriptive text, Peninsula was chosen based on its diverse historic architecture, walkability, neighborhood friendliness and abundant family activities. The magazine reviews each of the 50 states and 14 Canadian territories each year. Current winners will appear in the April 2012 edition of the magazine’s paper format and online, as well as in PreservationDirectory.com

Chosen for several categories, such as “Family Friendly” and “Parks & Recreation,” Peninsula was also one of the editors’ top picks as the “Best for Small Town Lovers.” To view the articles online, go to http://bit.ly/tohpeninsula

This magazine edition promotes awareness of historic preservation and maintenance for future generations. They appreciated not only the dedication of Peninsula’s residents to our architectural heritage and significant structures but also the selfless care of our village families in supporting each other.
