The compelling story of Walt Whitman’s experiences during the Civil War. After his brother was injured, Whitman went to look for his brother and witnessed the carnage of the aftermath of battles. He decided to become a nurse and write of his experiences.
Carol Zeh is a retired Language Arts teacher and is currently a faculty member at the University of Akron. She is the current president of the Tallmadge Civil War Society. Carol has attended the Civil War Institute in Gettysburg for over 15 years and is a regular presenter at Lakeside Chautauqua for Civil War Week. She is also a certified lay pastor for the United Church of Christ.
