Preserving Peninsula's Past for the Future.

Christian Sedelmyer and Eli West

May 17th- Christian Sedelmyer and Eli West– Excited to bring these two to the Hall.  At the festival I went to last year, that focused on collaberations, these two were always on the stage…and rightly so..great versatile musicians that love to play music!

A 4 and 5 string violin player and composer who is influenced in equal part by Neil Young and Stuart Duncan, Christian Sedelmyer’s progressive improvisational ideas, technical facility, and ardent musicianship have garnered him a strong reputation in Nashville, where he makes his home. A Grammy-nominated member of the Jerry Douglas Band, and founder of eclectic folk duo 10 String Symphony with Rachel Baiman, Christian has brought his unique melodic style to audiences all over the world.

Well-known for his work with Norwegian fiddler Olav Mjelva, Cahalen Morrison, Jayme Stone and more, the Seattle-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Eli West oozes understated talent. Eli’s recent debut solo album, The Both, sees him taking the lead, on electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, and pedal steel, whilst remaining a thoughtful collaborator – here with some of his close friends and personal heroes, like jazz great Bill Frisell, new Americana discovery Dori Freeman, and Anna & Elizabeth. Christian Sedelmyer plays fiddle on the B Side of “The Both,” an instrumental imagining of all the lyrical songs from the A Side.

This rare collaboration between Eli and Christian was inspired by their recording and touring with Mandolin Orange’s Andrew Marlin throughout 2018. You can expect a combination of original material, new takes on old ballads, beautiful arranging and improvising, and old soul harmonies. Not to be missed!
